SPEARHEAD was represented at the 17th Hellenic Astronomical Society (HelAS) Conference, held in Patras, Greece from June 30 to July 2, 2025. The event brought together leading researchers in astrophysics and space science, and SPEARHEAD contributed cutting-edge insights into high-energy particle research and space weather forecasting.

Three SPEARHEAD-related presentations were delivered:
- Monica Laurenza (INAF) presented “Exploitation of high energy particle data for preparing for the new space era”, highlighting how SPEARHEAD’s data-driven approach is paving the way for future missions and real-time space weather monitoring.
- Manon Jarry (NOA) shared “Highlights on very high-energy solar proton events (>100 MeV)”, offering valuable analysis of extreme solar events critical for assessing radiation risks in space.
- Eleni Lavasa (NOA) showcased “A catalogue of large solar energetic particle events observed by Solar Orbiter for the first four years of measurements”, a comprehensive dataset with strong implications for solar physics and heliospheric modelling.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to connect with the broader heliophysics community of Greece, share SPEARHEAD’s latest research, and gather feedback to further enhance our tools and catalogues.
Stay tuned for more updates as SPEARHEAD continues to support Europe’s preparedness for the challenges of the new space era.
